By Robert Nelson

In this modern age, everything seemed to be replaced by machineries. You can wash your clothes without too much effort. If you want to look for something, a device can easily answer you. Although it has made our lives easier, humans became the modern slaves. Yet, technology cannot claim full victory as voice writing court reporter is paving a path of how to use advancements properly.

In court reporting, it is a job that is in the verge of being stolen by the machines. Having digital recorders can be the perfect ordeal for that job. Court reporters are assigned to generate verbatim transcriptions of proceedings, events, meetings, conversations, and legal documents. We all know that keeping written documents is essential in legal transactions. This profession needs to jot down the exact words as it can be an asset of evidence for the lawsuit.

They must also guard the legal records from any harm or being stolen. Also, the words they have written down should be organized and accurately ordered. Through this recording skill, many have been aided to serve justice in the courthouse. Another advantage is it can help address social needs. It helps those who are hearing impaired and mentally challenged. Words can be interpreted for them to understand the procedures made.

Voice writing is a process in which the reporter would have to talk to an instrument called stenomask. A reporter has to state everything she heard into the apparatus. To come up with a comprehensive legal transcription, the writer should identify the identity of the speakers and note the entirety about them.

All pertains to completion. It includes recording the movements, responses, and noise retorts of people present in the vicinity. In short, you should listen then speak. Listen to what the people involve have to say, and direct it to the device. After the proceedings, the transcription should be worked on.

During the fortieth year of the twentieth century, the process appeared along with the birth of stenomask. A stenomask is a silencer used to document the articulated transcription. It is also used to silence the voice of its user and not create noise during the proceedings. The device is supplied with highly functional electronic microphone and noise diminishing objects. Stenomasks are connected to computers with advanced speech recognizer which allows them to transcribe into transcript format.

After dwelling with how this process works, you might be wondering if how it is better from stenotype. Knowingly, people speak faster rather than they can type. Even with the advent of stenotype machine, completion of transcription is slower than the speech writing software. It records cleanly and more accurate. This also allows them to take on more tasks as they can save time in editing.

Other advantage of this method is a positive health solution. Speech writing software lessens the chances of attaining stress conditions like carpal tunnel syndrome. It is a common health condition for stenotypists. It happens when the median nerve is given pressure which runs through your arms to your wrist. It numbs, pain, and exudes a tingling sensation in both arms and hands.

If there is an advantage to this method, it would be having a complete set of equipment. Reporters will also have to spend years and money to train for this program. Although not everyone finds this easy to use, voice writing is a practical method for the future.
